Rodney Harrison's Disagreement With Mike Holmgren

Press Contact: Rachel Nelson 818-461-8057

LOS ANGELES, February 9, 2006 - Two-time Super Bowl Champion, Rodney Harrison, joined The Drive on Fox yesterday to talk about the Super Bowl and the controversy over the officiating. Below are highlights from the interview.

On Seattle Seahawks Head Coach Mike Holmgrens bad officiating comments: "I have a lot of respect for Mike Holmgren, but I totally disagree with himthe refs didn't throw any interceptions, they didn't miss any tackles, they didn't drop any balls, they didn't run the ball, so you can't sit there and put the blame on the refsif you go out there and make those plays, you walk off at the end of the day, and you know what? You got confetti in your hair."

Harrison's opinion on the officiating: "I don't think that the refs actually took the game from Seattle, but I think they definitely had an impact on it."

Harrisons recommendation for the NFL: "I think what the NFL needs to do ismake them (referees) full-time employees. You give them benefits and you give them regular hours throughout the season and even in the off-season, make them study films, you make them go over to NFL Europe and keep their skills sharp and you make them become more accountable"

The Drive on Fox is nationally syndicated by the Fox Sports Radio Network and airs from 3-7 p.m. ET/12-4 p.m. PT.
