LOS ANGELES, December 5, 2011 -- Premiere Networks announced today the addition of a new host to the weekend lineup of Coast to Coast AM, the most-listened-to overnight radio program in North America. On January 7, John B. Wells, a long-standing favorite of Coast to Coast AM listeners who has guest-hosted the program since 2005, will begin hosting the live Saturday evening 1 - 5 a.m. ET slot currently hosted by Ian Punnett.
On December 3, Punnett, who first joined the Coast to Coast AM weekend lineup in 1998, announced on-air that he will step down from his Saturday hosting duties in an effort to seek aggressive treatment for a debilitating case of tinnitus. His final Saturday show will air December 31, but he will continue to host Coast to Coast AM the second Sunday of each month. George Noory, who helms the live weeknight timeslot, will continue to host the first Sunday of each month, with award-winning investigative journalist and 8 News Now/Las Vegas I-Team Chief Reporter George Knapp hosting on the third and fourth Sundays.
Wells stated, "Spending Saturday nights talking to millions of Coast to Coast fans is a dream come true. After guest hosting the show off and on for the last few years, it's a real honor to officially join the Coast to Coast and Premiere Networks crew. This is going to be a lot of fun and a real adventure!"
Punnett stated, "While nobody likes to leave a show they love, I'm grateful to remain a part of the Coast to Coast family. I take pride in knowing that by stepping aside on Saturdays, I can give an opportunity to a worthy replacement in John B. Wells."
