LOS ANGELES, June 26, 2007 - Premiere Radio Networks is proud to announce the addition of Dawson McAllister to its line-up of nationally syndicated radio personalities. On July 1, the company will assume the distribution rights to Dawson McAllister Live, which airs live Sundays from 10 p.m. to midnight in all time zones. The show generates excellent ratings on nearly 50 Contemporary radio stations nationwide. Dawson McAllister Association is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization. The radio show is certified by FCC Compliance Consultant Peter Fulton as Public Affairs programming for local stations.
Dawson McAllister Live is a call-in show designed to meet the needs of teenagers and young adults. Those 25 and younger call to talk about their deepest needs and issues, such as broken families, abuse, depression, addiction, etc. However, this public service doesn't begin and end on Sundays. Since the show's inception in 1991, "HopeLine" (1-800-394-HOPE), a donor-funded, highly technical and strategically operated call center, supplements the radio show seven nights a week. It's staffed by trained callers who operate out of four call centers in Tennessee, South Dakota, Pennsylvania and Minnesota. They're trained to assist teens in need by offering them encouragement, hope and resources to better help them deal with their issues.
"I am thrilled to team up with Premiere Radio Networks," said McAllister. "Premiere is the finest, and the American teenager deserves the best. If there was ever a time to reach out to hurting teenagers and young adults, it is now. Radio provides a platform where we can say, 'You are loved and there is hope for your life.' These are exciting days, not only for my show, Dawson McAllister Live, but far more importantly for the millions of teenagers and young adults whose lives will never be the same."
Clear Channel EVP of Content Development Tom Owens said, "It's not often we have the privilege of delivering a program that not only achieves tremendous ratings in the 12-24 demographic which has been under-serviced by terrestrial radio, but also succeeds socially. Dawson's program not only changes, but in many cases, saves lives every single weekend."
Dawson McAllister is represented by Eric Weiss of the Weiss Agency based in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
McAllister is a gifted youth communicator who has received international recognition for his work. During his career, he has spoken to more than two million teenagers and young adults face to face, and another seven million by radio, television and video. His books and youth manuals have sold more than one million copies. In addition to being a graduate of Bethel
College in St. Paul, Minn., with completed studies in Talbot Theological Seminary, he also has an honorary doctorate degree from Biola University. He lives in Columbia, Tenn., with his wife Ruth Hill. They have two sons, Fulton and Gene McAllister.
