Premiere Radio Networks Partners with Polycom To Revolutionize Radio Remote Broadcasts
--Premiere Radio Networks' 19th Annual CMA Awards Radio Remote Broadcast to Feature Innovative Virtual Communication with Artists--
LOS ANGELES, October 5, 2010 - Premiere Radio Networks, the leading audio network in the country, and Polycom®, a global leader in unified communications (UC), today announced a new agreement that will revolutionize the way radio stations participate in remote broadcasts. As part of Premiere's annual radio remote broadcast leading up to "The 44th Annual CMA Awards," Country radio stations will have the opportunity to utilize Polycom's cutting-edge video and telepresence solutions to virtually participate in the remote broadcast from Nashville Nov. 7 - 9. This innovative technology will allow stations to interview Country Music's biggest stars via live video, thus minimizing on-site staff to a single representative. These "video-link" stations will also have the unique opportunity to immediately post video of the interviews on their station's Web sites.
Participating video-link stations include: WUBL/Atlanta, WMZQ/Washington, D.C., WSSL/Greenville, S.C., WBCT/Grand Rapids, KTST/Oklahoma City and WYRK/Buffalo.
"We're excited to work closely with an industry leader like Polycom," stated Julie Talbott, Premiere Radio Networks president, content and affiliate relations. "At a time when every employee is crucial to the day-to-day operations of a radio station, we felt it was important to lead the charge and embrace this technology in order to continue providing stations great access to special events like the CMA Awards."
"We're honored that Premiere Radio Networks turned to Polycom and our flexible, standards-based solutions for this game-changing approach to delivering the CMA Awards to radio stations and their listeners/online audiences around the world," said Heidi Melin, Polycom senior vice president and chief marketing officer. "Polycom video solutions create location liberation so people can have more engaging, interactive experiences in new ways that defy the boundaries of distance, and the CMA Awards are a prime example of video in action."
"We value our partnership with Premiere Radio Networks and the important visibility and awareness the remotes and the participating radio stations generate for the CMA Awards," said CMA Chief Executive Officer Steve Moore. "Being responsive and sensitive to the changing needs of radio stations and their personnel benefits everyone."
